Materials that were moved into CSU included among other things several boxes of dispatcher sheets, small ledger books, and various engineering field books. The team also moved the large 63" long x 31" wide x 35" high fireproof Erie/EL filing cabinet that contains one of the gems of the collection - the original linen Erie Valuation maps. We also have a near complete set of Lackawanna Valuation Maps in the collection which have already been scanned.
The Archive Steering Committee is currently working on plans to move the remaining flat files and 17 Gaylord boxes (heavy-duty 5'x5'x5' boxes) that contain several oversize items including drawings, track charts, and other material that could not otherwise fit into paige boxes from Norhtcoast Records. This second and last move will take place in the July/August time-frame. Once the collection is completely moved into CSU we will need volunteers to help with cataloging as needed, scanning, and Optical Character Recognition tasks just to name a few.
